Necip Fazıl Kısakürek was a Turkish poet, playwright, novelist, and Islamist ideologue. Apart from contributing as a poet to magazines like Yeni Mecmua, Anadolu, and Milli Mecmua, Kısakürek also published his own magazines namely Büyük Doğu and Borazan. A prominent Islamist, Necip Fazıl Kısakürek has been considered an icon by Turkish Islamists since the late 1970s.
